Anne E. Nelson is an Associate General Counsel in the transactional practice group.

Prior to joining Arizona State University, Ms. Nelson served for ten years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona. There she handled False Claims Act investigations and a wide variety of civil cases including regulatory challenges under the Administrative Procedure Act, bankruptcy, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and employment discrimination.

Immediately after graduating law school, Ms. Nelson was hired into the Attorney General’s Honors Program with the U.S. Department of Justice.  She served as a DOJ Trial Attorney in the Tax Division for four years and handled tax litigation in federal district and bankruptcy courts. 

Ms. Nelson received her Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona.  She is admitted to practice law in Arizona, the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
