Randall is an Associate General Counsel within the transactional practice group, focusing on commercial transactions, financing, bankruptcy, and immigration. Previously, he served as the Director of the Office of Faculty & Staff Immigration Services and as the Investigating Officer for the Faculty Judicial Commission at the University of Iowa. During his tenure, he developed employment-based immigration policies and procedures for physicians, professors, researchers and professional staff members, while also handling matters arising under the faculty dispute procedures. Prior to joining the University of Iowa, Randall was engaged in the private practice of law, principally with the law firm of Michael Best & Friedrich in Madison, Wisconsin. His practice focused on commercial transactions, secured financing, bankruptcy matters and debt restructurings. Randall served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Robert D. Martin, Chief Judge of United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Wisconsin (1988-89). He graduated with high distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1988. He was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as an Associate Editor of the Iowa Law Review. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and American Studies, with high distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1984. He was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society.
